Outline of the Route
From Corwen in central North Wales we ride to and around Bala Lake or Llyn Tegis to enjoy a brew at the far end. Whence up and over a lovely mountain route to the reservoir at Trawsfydydd the keep descending to the coast. Ride past Harlech Castle to Barmouth continuing along the coast via the long wooden bridge over the estuary and south almost to Tywyn.
The route then heads east gradually rising through quiet roads and over small ups and downs before climbing up Bwich y Groes and then down to Llyn Vyrnwy. One last hill over the Hirnant Pass before the long descent to Bala and back to Corwen.

A truly magnificent day out on mostly quiet roads apart from the coastal stretch.

Bala Parade 60km
A gentler event designed as an introduction to audax and a ride for me to do while the other riders are out up the hills.
I follows routes either side of the Dee with lots of smaller ups and downs to Llyn Tegid.
Lake views as we go along the quiet side of the lake t the Eagles Inn just beyond the lake at Llanuwchlyn and then back.
You could circumnavigate the lake and visit Bala town but in summer the road can be quite busy so we retrace to the North Eastern end but take a different lane back to the A5 and Corwen so this is recommended but not enforced.
